We spent the opening days of the Sri Lankan–German Business Forum 2026 in Colombo, organised by AHK Sri Lanka under the theme 'Building Trusted Partnerships.' Day one was a start-up night at TRACE Expert City; day two moved to the main conference at ITC Ratnadipa, with panels on ports as regional gateways and Europe's expectations on digitalization and sustainability.
One thread ran through all of it: the partnerships that matter are the ones that outlast a single project cycle. We have spent years earning that kind of trust with Japanese enterprises, and we are carrying the same discipline into Germany and the wider EU. Good to meet Dr Felix Neumann, German Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, among many others strengthening this corridor.
