The engineer's job is changing. The skill is knowing when AI is wrong

A reflection from one of our sessions on what actually matters as AI reshapes engineering work.

BUILDING IN THE AI ERA

The role of a software engineer is clearly shifting. It is no longer mainly about writing code. It is about thinking critically, designing systems, and working effectively alongside AI. That is exactly what we build our teams around: AI-augmented development, system-design thinking, and production-ready solutions rather than prototypes.

The real skill is not using AI; plenty of people can do that now. The skill is knowing when it is wrong, and having the engineering judgment to catch it before it ships. That judgment is what our clients are actually paying for.
